Man, talk about bringing back memories. Great site! I probably had at least one of every flying toy they made in the 70s :-)
Does anybody remember the Hairy Canary? I think it was also made by Mattel, probably some time after the Dareplane.
It was just like the Dareplane, but it was hand-powered! In place of the Dareplane's throttle lever it had a hand crank. The plane was identical to the Dareplane, but blue and yellow.
Maybe it was Mattel's answer to all the problems with the Dareplane; I know my Hairy Canary lasted a lot longer than my Dareplane. Still, two awesome toys!
