The Kaypro II contained 64K of RAM. In addition, video RAM and system PROM could be banked-in The system PROM overlaid lower memory upon boot-up (and when specifically selected by software) The PROM contained loader and CBIOS support code (CBIOS used PROM to manipulate hardware) The PROM, could be bank-selected via software control CBIOS routines were loaded from the disk into high memory (standard with CP/M machines) Video memory was banked selected along with the PROM code
